The Schubox is a revolutionary gas catalytic infrared (IR) curing room that's transforming finishing departments across woodworking, millwork, cabinet, plastics, aerospace, and composite shops in Florida. Unlike electric IR or conventional hot-air ovens, the Schubox uses a completely flameless catalytic process — natural gas, propane, or butane is converted into long-wave IR energy by precious-metal catalysts (platinum and palladium), producing an emission spectrum that perfectly matches the absorption spectrum of organic coatings. The result: finishes cure from the inside out in a fraction of the time of traditional methods, without baking the substrate.

Operating temperatures stay in the 95–104°F range, so temperature-sensitive materials like resinous solid wood, veneer, plastics, and composites cure beautifully without warping, blushing, or off-gassing damage. High-solids AC lacquers cure in ~10 minutes; pigmented PU lacquers in 20–30 minutes. The Schubox is not a batch oven — racks go in and come out independently at any time, operators can walk in and out during operation, and you can mix coatings, substrates, and dwell times in the same room. Power requirements are modest (30A @ 480V, ~7–10A operating) and fuel use is minimal — typical operating cost of just $15–$20 per day, even running all day.
